The ICAEW has launched a new certificate in insolvency that aims to provide people with a greater understanding of corporate and personal insolvency issues.
Open to anyone regardless of previous qualifications, the certificate is to help people develop the skills needed to apply their understanding of insolvency, and acts as a stepping stone to people who want to go on to study towards the Joint Insolvency Examination Board exams.
It will cover four areas including legal and regulatory framework for insolvency; concepts and principles of insolvency; corporate insolvency; and personal insolvency.
The certificate is built around flexible learning and assessment options, and can be studied on its own or as an additional model to complement the ICAEW certificate in finance, accounting and business.
Mark Protherough, ICAEW executive director for learning and professional development, said: ‘This certificate offers a practical introduction to the work of an insolvency practitioner, allowing individuals to function effectively in this area and preparing them for a more advanced qualification in insolvency.’
Classroom and distance learning packages will be available from the ICAEW’s tuition partner, BPP Professional Education, in April 2010.
