Portsmouth administration could end soon

Football club addrresses HMRC concerns

Emily Beattie

The administrator of Portsmouth FC has said the Premier League club could be out of administration in six to eight weeks, after a High Court winding up order was suspended.

Administrator Andrew Andronikou of UHY Hacker Young, said the football club was back in the High Court to address HM Revenue and Customs’ concerns about the administration process it entered last month, which prevented it collapsing under its debt. HMRC has now formally accepted the administration.

The winding-up order will be removed once the club has come out of administration.
